Orientation, Student Services, Fun and Recreation
There is more involved in living in a new
country than just learning the language. There are many other things that can be
confusing, too. A special orientation program is held each session to help you prepare for
cultural, social, and academic life in America.
Personal Counseling
Agape's
staff are
available to help you adjust to the many new experiences you will face in America, and
counsel or advise you about personal situations -- anything from homesickness to
immigration matters, banking, social relationships, cultural adjustment, etc.
University Placement
You may wish to continue your education
elsewhere in the U.S. after completing Agape. The academic advisor can help you find a
suitable college or university for your further studies. This includes sending for and
completing application forms and in helping with any other correspondence.
Fun and Recreation
Picnics, mountain or beach
trips, whitewater rafting, etc. are organized for social and recreational purposes.
Special friendship dinners with Americans are
held throughout the academic year. Also, American friendship partners are voluntarily
assigned to give you a special friend or family to make you feel at home while you are in
the U.S.A.
Housing Arrangements
You have two options for living
arrangements while at AELI:
Homestay with American Families: This
unique opportunity gives you a better chance to practice your English every day, and
improve your conversational and listening skills at a faster rate. Agape
chooses only
caring, friendly families to give you the best possible experience of an American home.
Apartment: Agape's
staff is available
to help families or individuals who prefer a private apartment find suitable housing near
campus.
